HI, I’M CHIAMAKA NANCY OBI.

The eye behind DeStrangeImages.

Welcome to DeStrangeImages —

where storytelling meets the soul

of photography.

I’m not just a photographer — I’m a storyteller.

I grew up seeing beauty in places others didn’t, and that curiosity led me to photography — a tool I use to document life, advocate for justice, and preserve the quiet strength of people and places. Whether I’m capturing the worn hands of a market woman, the wonder in a child’s eyes, or the resilience of forgotten communities, my goal remains the same: to honor reality and spark conversations that matter.

Raw Stories

I’m not just a photographer—I’m a visual poet. Through DeStrangeImages, I tell stories that matter. Stories that live in the corners of streets, the eyes of women, the laughter of children, the silence of sacrifice. My lens is drawn to moments often overlooked. Because I believe that raw, undiluted truth deserves a place in our collective memory.

I create Honest, Intentional Visual that celebrate Humanity, Heritage, and the untold story.

Who I Work With,

I love working with brands, organizations, and individuals who value truthimpact, and intentional storytelling. Whether you’re running a campaign, building a movement, or documenting change, I bring my lens and my heart to every frame.

I work with colors that speak warmth—browns, blacks, purples—and stories that speak truth.

Feet of a newborn

“The stories we choose to tell say a lot about who we are. I choose to tell the ones that fight for visibility, voice, and value.”

DOCUMENTARY & Portrait Photography

Capturing light, feelings & moments and all the things in between people and life.

My Work Style

Beyond the lens, I’m an environmentalist and a believer in mutual respect between people and nature. I’m drawn to stories that challenge systems, spotlight dignity, and celebrate humanity in its most authentic form.

Our Philosophy

Photography is a life style! So live it, love it.

Sometimes we are so focused on that one thing to happen, that we totally forget about the priceless moments in between.

“I photograph to remember, to honor, and to remind us that our identities are worth seeing.”
